With releases on labels including Liquicity, Galacy, Spearhead, Program and Soulvent, he has become one of the scene's most recognisable voices in modern liquid drum & bass. Music has always been at the centre of Ben Downton's life. Originally trained as a violinist and performing with the West Sussex Strings across the UK, he later swapped the bow for bass guitar before eventually finding his home in electronic music and the studio. After first cutting his teeth as a dubstep DJ, Ben developed the Low:r alias and began shaping the sound he is known for today:
