Buraka Som Sistema was a Portuguese electronic dance music project from the Lisbon area, specializing in a fusion of techno with kuduro and zouk that pioneered zouk bass and progressive kuduro styles. Active from 2006 to 2016 on labels including Enchufada, Sony BMG, and Aftercluv Dance Lab/Universal, the group released albums such as Black Diamond (2008) and won an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Portuguese Act.
